Dinosaur Adventure

Last Tuesday, Lil Man and I headed over to the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History to get out of the house and do something other than visiting our usual spots of Target, Barnes N' Nobles and the Mall.  Lucky for us, we have a membership and can go whenever we'd like so today was a great day.  After waking up super early and driving to my new hospital that I'll be working at for a pre-employment physical (post about that later) and coming home, I prepared our lunches, gathered Lil Man from Daddy's duty and off we went!

Austin loves dinosaurs and enjoyed the DinoDig they have there:
It was cold (high 40-low 50's) & Windy but that didn't stop him.  We were there for about 45 min while he was digging up dinosaur bones!

They even have, in the gift shop, a slide that kids can go on that is in the same of a dinosaur!  Austin loved this and refused to leave:

SMILE!
Then we headed over to the life-sized replicas of the dinosaurs and read various information about them.  Check out this life-sized foot print of T-Rex:

Painting Pizzas!

Fridays are usually our evenings of dining out (or IN!) with Carolyn.  It's been a 'tradition' of sorts for about 2 years now (WOW times flys!) and we enjoy spending that evening with her.  Some Fridays we don't get together because of one thing or another, but we try our best to keep with it.

This Friday, after discussing options of what to do? where to go? we decided it would be best and we'd all be more comfortable if we just stayed home (aka: at our place).  What is on the menu?!  We'll it was going to be something simple like Keilbasa & mac n' cheese but Carolyn had the novel idea of making our own pizzas!  She picked up the ingredients -- THANKS!! - and we put our creative 'chef' hats on and got to work.  It was a blast to do and - personally - I felt like it tasted a LOT better and was finished in 10 min vs. waiting for the pizza delivery guy to arrive the usual "45 min - 1 hour" bit they always quote.

What we used:
Premade Pizza Dough (yea, they weren't THAT homeade LOL  No dough rollin' here!)
EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) --> place on dough prior to putting sauce on
Pizza sauce
Green bell peppers
Ground beef
pepperoni
cheese (mozerella & cheddar)

Put in oven on 425 for 7-10 min and EAT!  Simple, fun and tasty!

Austin "painting" his pizza --> that's what he called it anyways
Goofy pic
Daddy & Austin making their pizzas
Putting on his fav: pepperoni's
Waiting the 7-10 min = picture time!

It was so yummy and this is one dinner we will definately be doing again really soon!  Thanks, Ammie for the yummy / fun idea!

The beginning of a new decade

Our New Years Eve was spent relaxing and just having a quiet night in due to my "slim chances" of working New Year's Day.  I was kidding myself and hoping I was going to be working so we decided to hang at the house together.  Carolyn came over and together we four had yummy dinner that our fine chef prepared,
which consisted of Steaks, baked potatoes, broccili w/ cheese, avacado (for Austin), and bread w/ olive oil & crushed pepper. Of course, we started the evening early by drinking Mimosias LOL  After dinner, Austin was bathed and thus we began our evening of nothing but relaxation.  AKA Sit on the couch to watch a movie.
Watching TROY
Since I was more than likely to be cancelled New Years Day we kept Austin up to celebrate the coming new year with us.  He did amazing - watched the movie with us as well as attempted to act out a few sword fighting scenes on his own HAHA!  Finally it was countdown time.  We were all a pretty sad sight - yawning and eagerly awaiting to open the last bottle of champange!  Yea, we're def. 'old' HAHAHA

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011
(that is SO weird to type out!)
May you always find a way to smile . . .
Or make fun of yourself.
& may your year be blessed with good fortune, happiness and love!
