DIY & save some dough!

In my previous post I mentioned that Carolyn and I saved $70.00 when we had a DIY moment! We came across this gorgeous Prelit Potted Porch Tree With Decorative Accessories and pretty container for $60.00.  Although we loved the look of it, we didn't want to pay that price for ONE!  So we got crafty.  It was Carolyn's idea - Mrs. Christmas Crafty Queen - to purchase the Set of 2 Prelit Potted Porch Trees for $40.00 and our own accessories to make our own porch tree for MUCH LESS!

BASIC PRELIT TREE
 ($40.00 for the set / $20.00 each)
ADD OUR OWN ACCESSORIES*:
$6.00 for package of Berries
$4.00 for package of Pinecones
($10.00 total / $5.00 to each tree)
*Ribbon for bow was already owned
 FINISHED!!!
It's it beautiful!?  And I love that we saved a bundle of dough!

Would've been:
$120.00 for Two prelit decorative tree (1 for me & 1 for Carolyn)

But we wanted to DIY and save $$:
$40.00 for the SET OF TWO prelit BASIC trees
$6.00 for package of berries
$4.00 for package of scented pinecones
Free for ribbon already on hand
TOTAL COST: $50.00 total ($25.00 each!)

TOTAL SAVINGS:
120.00 (2 decorative trees)
minus
50.00 ( 2 basic trees + accessories)
equals:
70.00 TOTAL SAVINGS ($35.00 saved on each tree!)

WHOOO HOOOOO!!!!
