For the past two and half weeks or so, Austin has been earing his big boy underwear at night. Although he has been potty trained during the day as well as for naps since October of last year, we never really pushed the issue of "night training" him. We figured he is only 3 1/2 and there was no reason to push.
One night, after bath when I was putting a pull up on Austin, he started crying. I asked him what was wrong and he replied with, "Pullups are for babies" and then later stated that "Josh Hamilton wears underwear". . . well we ALL know how much of a fan (although THAT is an understatement!!!) Austin is, so I told him to go pick out what underwear he wanted to wear that night. Of course, the first night he didn't succeed; however, he did stay dry until 4am!
It's helped us, his parents, that he has been sleeping in yet another sheet-created tent with his old toddler mattress inside. It's a LOT easier to change a toddler sized bed than a full bed in the middle of the night, that's for sure! He's now been 'upgraded' to sleeping in his full sized bed, although we have caught him sneaking into our bed or even the couch - and all those times, thank goodness, he's remained dry :-)
In the past 2 1/2-3 weeks, Austin has only had 2 nights of accidents! We are so proud. One of the nights he was even spending the night at his Ammie's house. She was a little (or a lot, HaHa) apprehensive, since he sleeps in bed with her, but he did it!!
We are so excited and wanted to share - he's just growing up too fast.
